The Rubicon Trail follows along the western shore of Lake Tahoe with views across the lake.  It is a very long trail that doesn't form a practical loop.  It starts at Bliss Park to the North and goes as far South as Vikingsholm and then Emerald Bay.

Head South on Route 89 to Tahoe City.  Take the right fork (West Lake Blvd. heading South) at the  main intersection in front of the Savemart supermarket.  Pass Tahoma and Meeks Bay, and look for the entrance to the D.L. Bliss State Park.  Take the Lester Beach Road heading East to the Rubicon Trail.

Distance and Difficulty
The Rubicon trail is mostly wide and gentle with a few sections where there are obstacles.  The trail ends at Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay.  The trail is about 4 miles long from Bliss Park to Vikingsholm.
